Ephesians2:8-10 8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Why are we saved? What is the purpose of salvation?Salvation isn't just a ticket for us to get to heaven, it is a transformative experience that empowers us for God's purpose in this world. It will lead to good works as evidence of faith, not the cause of salvation. God delivered us so we would have a relationship with Him, and through our relationship with Him He is able to carry out His mission to redeem a lost world. God needs hearts that are responsive to Him. Just like the parables in the bible. Joseph was given a dream that at the time was unclear, and caused him to be resented by his brothers. Joseph was sold as a slave and even spent time in prison all as a part of Gods plan to put him in a position that would save his entire family. His salvation and deliverance was difficult, and at times it seemed hopeless, but because he was faithful God used him in a mighty way. The three Hebrew boys through their obedience their lives changed others lives, they were delivered from a firey furnace. Through their faith a pagan king was able to see God in their lives and he decreed that their God was above all other Gods. Daniel was fed to lions because he refused to disobey God. Through his faith he was delivered from the lions. His obedience led to a change in the way the people of his day prayed and worshiped, and his life is an example for us to follow today. God has a purpose and a plan for each of us. There is more at stake than trying to get to heaven. The Lord is able to use us to lead others as well to heaven. We just have to be obedient and available. Heavenly father thank You for the gift of our life and for the sacrifice of Jesus, who came to save us. We surrender our life to You, asking that You use us as a vessel to bring Your light and love to others. Give us boldness to share the Gospel, wisdom to speak hope, and a compassionate heart to serve those in need, just as You have served us. Open doors for our testimony and soften hearts to receive Your truth. Help us to live honorably, reflecting Your grace so that others might find salvation and eternal life with You. In Jesus' name we pray.
