This is a delightful, nutrient rich fruit bearing tree with a wide natural range across the northern hemisphere. The pulp of the fruit is somewhat tart but softens into a sweet pleasant aftertaste. Do not consume of the pits of the fruit. Do not consume of the fruit of a wild cherry tree which has wilt disease as these specimen often have an accumulation of Prussic acid which is known to be toxic.
