A bikepacking adventure starting in Udinese, Italy heading through Slovenia over a couple of mountain passes, beautiful countryside and back to Udinese. The route and event were created by Grand Escape. It is not a race, more a ride at your own pace event. Due to time limitations I chose to attempt to complete the 575 km and 7,500 metres of climbing in three days. For this I chose my brevet / audax setup. Not mega light but also not heavy. Carrying enough equipment to deal with a temperature range between 5 - 35 °C, but planning to sleep for a few hours in a hotel every night. Also a lighting system capable of night riding in unlit areas, emergency gear and the all important reflective vest.
