CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The teacher who fought to recover from a stroke she suffered Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro has died after falling at her home. Local 12 first introduced you to Terri Kersey in 2013 when she and a former student went to Tanzania to raise awareness and money about a rare disease that affects digestion. While there, Kersey suffered a stroke. We chronicled her difficult journey home from Africa and her recovery efforts. Earlier in September, Kersey fell down the steps at her home and suffered a head injury from which she could not recover. Her family says Kersey was a giving person and her last act of kindness was as an organ donor. There is a GoFundMe page set up to help Kersey's family.
