Quadzilla-RAM 250e (SMC) Quad Bike. How To Check The Cam Chain Engine Timing with Engine in Situ.

SMC Quadzilla Ram 250e-Check your Camshaft Engine Timing without having to remove your engine from the frame. AKA Timing Chain, Valve and Camshaft Timing similar to Honda Rebel 250, CMX 250 Engine and the Barossa 250 Twin Cylinder engine (but please check as this video is specifically for the Quadzilla Ram 250e). If your Quadzilla Ram 250e engine seems to lack power, is slow to rev, is difficult to start or runs intermittently or poorly and lacks responsiveness it might be that the cam timing chain is so worn that it has "jumped" the teeth on the Camshaft Sprocket and this has put the engine timing out. Please note that prior to carrying out this check your time would probably be better spent:- Checking or changing the spark plugs and setting the spark plug gap. Cleaning or changing the air filter. Stripping down and cleaning the carburettors. Checking that there is an effective spark at the spark plugs. Adjust valve clearances. If you have carried out all of the above then it may be worth checking the timing.
