Cancer-related fatigue is one of the most common — and misunderstood — side effects of treatment. It’s not the same as being tired, and for many patients, rest alone doesn’t make it better. In this episode (S1, E11) of Besties with Breasties, Sarah and Beth are joined by oncology nurse and cancer exercise specialist Jenny Spencer to explain what cancer fatigue and deconditioning really are, why they happen during treatment, and how safe, appropriate movement can actually help restore energy. They discuss why doing nothing can make fatigue worse, how to start moving even if you’ve never exercised before, and why working with a cancer-trained exercise professional matters. This conversation is designed to help patients feel less afraid of movement and more confident caring for their bodies during treatment. In This Episode, We Discuss: -What cancer-related fatigue actually is -Why rest alone doesn’t resolve fatigue -What de-conditioning means during cancer treatment -How exercise helps energy, mood, and recovery -Safe ways to start moving during chemo -Why individualized exercise plans matter -How to overcome fear of movement during treatment About Besties with Breasties & Faith Through Fire Faith Through Fire is a 501c3 Non-Profit.
