🚗 Mercedes-Benz E200 AMG Convertible Roof & Window Repair | From Broken Glass to Fixed Top In this video, we take on a Mercedes-Benz E200 A207 AMG Convertible that definitely gave us a challenge. What started as a simple purchase quickly turned into a full-on troubleshooting session with the convertible roof system and rear window replacement. We picked up this Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet knowing it had damage — the rear window was completely broken. At first glance, the plan seemed straightforward: replace the rear window and get the car back on the road. But as anyone who’s worked on a convertible knows, nothing is ever that simple. As soon as I started working on the window, I realized the roof mechanism was stuck. The roof wouldn’t move properly, and the whole system felt out of sync. I began diagnosing the issue and managed to get the roof to lock into the correct position, which felt like a small win… until I realized it still wouldn’t open. That’s when things got frustrating. I spent more time adjusting, checking, and trying to fix the roof mechanism, but eventually, I hit a wall. Sometimes you just have to know when to stop, so I decided to call it a day and walk away. The next morning, with a fresh mindset, I gave it one last try. And this time — success. After carefully going through the roof system again, I finally managed to get the convertible roof fully working. Moments like this remind you why patience is so important when working on cars, especially complex systems like convertible tops. Just when I thought the problems were over, I noticed something else — one of the tyres was completely flat. Luckily, that was a quick fix compared to everything else. I sorted the tyre out and moved straight back to the main task: replacing the rear window. For the window repair, I started by removing all the broken glass, making sure everything was clean and safe to work on. After that, I noticed the glass frame wasn’t straight, so I carefully straightened it to ensure the new window would fit properly. Once everything was aligned, I installed the new rear window, making sure it was seated correctly and securely. With the window in place and the roof functioning as it should, the repair was finally complete. Seeing the Mercedes-Benz E200 AMG Convertible fully fixed was incredibly satisfying after all the setbacks along the way. To wrap things up, I took the car for a drive and enjoyed it the way it was meant to be enjoyed — roof working, window replaced, and no warning signs in sight. 🚘 What’s next? This Mercedes is now listed for sale, and once it sells, we’ll be doing a follow-up video where I break down: How much we paid for the car Total repair costs How much it sold for And whether the project was worth it If you enjoy car repair videos, rebuilds, diagnostics, and real-world project cars, make sure to subscribe to the channel.
