In this jazz guitar lesson, I take a look at two minor ii-V-i lines from Emily Remler. These lines contain some really interesting bebop language and harmonic ideas, and they also work great as exercises for developing speed, technique, and fluency on the guitar. In the lesson, I break down both lines note-for-note and discuss the harmonic concepts behind why they work so well over a minor ii-V-i progression. These phrases are great examples of how Emily Remler combined strong bebop vocabulary with clear melodic ideas in her playing. If you're looking to expand your jazz guitar vocabulary, develop stronger minor ii-V-i lines, and build technique on the instrument, these are fantastic lines to add to your practice routine.
