Trisha speaks about the dangers of negative words and the power we receive when our words line up with God's Word. She challenges us to engage in a 21-day fast of negative words. She reminds us of Isaiah 43:18-19 “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing…” We have the power, in God, to “take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ…” (2 Corinthians 10:5). So much of our spiritual condition is based on conscious choices we make. Make the choice to align your thoughts and words with the Word of God. Discipline yourself to guard your heart from the corruption of sin and compromise. When you “delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4) ENJOY! Who may dwell on your holy hill? He who walks uprightly, works righteousness, speaks the truth in his heart. He who does not backbite with his tongue nor does evil to his neighbor nor does he take up a reproach against his friend. In whose eyes a vile person is Despised, but he who honors those who fear the Lord; he who swears to his own hurt and does not change; he who does not put his money at usury, nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be moved." The Bible says that a wise man has a teachable spirit. It's easy to blame everybody for your issues, but we also need to look introspectively. I need to look at my heart and make the necessary changes. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” That means I can change. I can change my negative mindset. My mom was a wonderful woman, I loved her dearly, but she came from Italy after WWII. She experienced trauma during the war. That trauma translated into lots of fear and pessimism. Her motives were good, we knew she loved us, but she did not get healed from that until she became a Christian. There was a constant fear factor. When I became a Christian, I needed to renew my mind with the Word. I trained myself to memorize scripture and keep quoting it out loud when fear started to manifest. Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Haggai 2:8 ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. Psalm 50:10 “For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills.” We need to say, “Lord, what is the condition of my heart?” I'm going to encourage you is to go on a fast of negative words. I honestly think a food fast is easier. I have over 100 scriptures here that I'll give out later actually you just come up and get yourself. Prophesy life over your family Prophesy over your situations. Prophesy life over your business. Romans 4:17 God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did…” We want to do great things to draw people in. Psalm 35 “And let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” Once we fast negative words, most of us won't be talking much! James 3:6 “the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.” Watch out for the empty chatter. Psalm 81:10 “Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.” To open the mouth is, in effect, to open your heart. We may be said to open our mouth wide when our affections are quick and lively and there is a correspondence between the feelings of your heart and your requests of your lips. When God says to his people open your mouth and I'll fill it. this statement also implies several things: dependency, faith, trust and active obedience. Think about it when we open our mouths unto the Lord we're not cursing Him! We're worshiping Him! Philippians 4:11 “I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content” Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy— meditate on these things. Ephesians 4:29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” That also includes not thinking the negative thoughts!
