A Trip On The 21.15 Caledonian Sleeper London Euston - Fort William Part 2 of 2 22nd-23rd September 2025 This video is one I have made, filmed on the 21.15 Caledonian Sleeper Train from London Euston, which has three portions, the first portion is bound for Inverness, the second portion for Ft. William and the final portion is for Aberdeen. The train on this evening departed on time and went up the WCML to Carstairs Jct, where the train took the Edinburgh line, via Midcalder and Haymarket arriving in Edinburgh Waverley at 03.44. This part of the journey, the train was hauled by Locomotive 92043. Here we had to alight from our seating carriage, as there is not one provided at London for the Ft. William part, these are shunted on at Edinburgh Waverley, which gave me time to do some video of the complex shunting of our train. Once the Aberdeen and Inverness portions had departed we then travelled in the seating accommodation for the rest of our journey being hauled now by Locomotives 66303 + 73967. The train departed Edinburgh at 04.27 and head out the way the train had come in, through Haymarket, and then taking the route through Bathgate, Coatbridge Sunnyside and Glasgow Queen St. (Lower Level). The train then took the West Highland Route via Dumbarton, Crianlarich, Rannoch, Spean Bridge and arrived in Fort William at 10.05 (5 minutes late) not bad considering the train had now by then come 566 miles. In the video feature I have included the arrival of the stock at London Euston and the shunting of the train in Edinburgh Waverley. There is also included a couple of shots at Ft. William and of 'The Jacobite' to Mallaig at Ft. William and again at Banavie, also a quick shot of the Caledonian Sleeper passing through Roy Bridge the following morning. The weather was very kind to us on this trip, especially on our scenic journey through the West Highlands. Part 2 features the remainder of the journey from Crianlarich to Fort William and a few shots of The 'Jacobite' both at Ft. William and Banavie, crossing the famous swing rail bridge. A quick shot of the Caledonian Sleeper passing through Roy Bridge on the 24th September in the morning. The feature ends with the arrival back at London Euston on the 25th September. I hope you enjoy this feature and feel free to comment, good or bad, and I will try to reply as soon as possible.
