Joined a pug group for wing 7, nothing too exciting about Sabir or Adina on the run but I wanted to record my pylon kiting. It is rather scuffed, but I thought I'd share it and discuss what went wrong to give an insight into the role and what not to do basically. / / / build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiABgyh3... log: https://dps.report/RuRa-20230715-2353... / / / Chapters ══════════════════ 0:00 - 100-80% 0:58 - 80% fires 1:10 - 80-60% 2:02 - 60% fires 2:12 - 60-40% 3:05 - First pylon consume 3:38 - 39%-30% 4:15 - Second pylon consume 4:46 - 27-20% 5:16 - Final pylon consume 5:30 - 19-0% / / / Thoughts/analysis ══════════════════ My task on this fight is to use the special action key and tether myself to the pylon to stop Qadim from gaining boons. Periodically you have to go and catch an orb then come back before the green circle shrinks. Virtuoso does this by using Mimic then Blink to port to the orb and then port back. This run really made me realise I need to shrink my squad ui so I can port without turning lmao. There was some anomalies spawning that went unattended, but this can happen! I just cc'd them inside the fires as the fire's ticking damage also affects the anomalies so it kills them for you if you have two fires stacked. Speaking of, this fire placement is known as the pug strat where you drop your first fire to the left of the pylon (when looking at Qadim) and then to the right/opposite side at 60%. There is a little diamond shape on the mosaic pattern in the floor which is the sweet spot for dropping them. I chose not to use my Signet of the Ether (until I flopped) for more passive sustain throughout. As for what went wrong, my biggest mess up was getting hit by the lightning shark when I was ccing the pylon at around 2:09. This meant I began to run out of sustain as I had taken too much damage that I shouldn't have. The extra damage from grabbing my orb, specifically as it gave vulnerability is what finished me off. Luckily someone came to revive me and picked up my orb. They special actioned for a moment to tether the orb to the pylon and then I took over again. Along with this, I got hit by a lot of the random lightning strikes later into the fight, including literally running into one at 4:20. Do not do this, its just taking unnecessary damage. These can be dodge rolled if you are late on getting out of them. More unnecessary damage that I took is at 3:10 as I ran all over the road. Some might say it is okay as it is visually bugged, but I know this and I still took forever to dodge roll the hits of it. Luckily there was no fires behind either as I didn't manage to get any stability. My pylon eating phase (40-0%) could have been smoother as well. I kinda went a little sporadic and was moving about a lot, swapping focus between anomalies and Qadim more than I should have, but it calmed down towards the end of the kill. At about 6:08 I wanted to test if blocks mitigated the arrow mechanic but it doesn't as you can see, so always jump or dodge roll these. Bottom line, we got the kill, but there was definitely cracks in my performance, but seeing that and improving upon it is what counts o7 #gw2 #guildwars2 #endofdragons Music ══════════════════ Music provided by Dreamscape: / @dreamscape .
