Dulcineasdiarycontinued - it's a Sunday afternoon and this new section of Paddy's Market was packed so good luck finding a seat or a table to eat. You could also try upstairs at Market City but the food court is the same over filled with people. I can imagine this new Paddy's Market underground food court at night. It would be the best place to eat and drink. Yes the place is licensed. There was a live DJ standing on the back of a vintage truck , it's full of dark lanes full of food concession stalls, carts and shops - yes a butcher, a bakery and candle stick marker - well at least sort of. There is definitely a bakery, there was a goumet butcher and a gormet deli as well, there was also a market shop selling wooden boards and maybe some candles and a green grocer as well complete with an enclosed green space city hydroponic plantation patch - unsure what was growing under those bright lights it looked like herbs of some sort - I hope they were herbs and not something else. Lacking especially on hot stinking 27 - 30 degree C days like today we're cold non alcoholic drink stalls. One thing to note and I forgot to mention is part of the revitalisation of this food hall at Paddy's Markets involved opening the area up and relocating quite a few non food and drink regular stall holders many of whom have been stall holders for years even decades. This is evident from looking at all the bright yellow makers - stall holder boundary lines & numbers left visible on the floor throughout the food hall. Now totally ignored by new food and drink vendors. There was plenty of food to choose from to purchase even a large bar selling cocktails and another bar with so many types of beers and other alcoholic beverages. There was a large coffee shop as well. Pizza, gozleme, Portuguese tarts, large plastic cups of cut up strawberries drizzles with melted chocolate, tacos emanades, gourmet Italian sandwiches, Korean, Vietnamese, desserts etc where do you start? I didn't purchase anything because I had just eaten at the equally crowed Fish Markets - more on this in another video. Love what has been done to revitalise the old markets which was starting to look tired lack patronage and becoming irrelevant with today's trends. Rating 8/10 a must visit destination for tourists add it to a visit to Chinatown, Chinese Friendship Garden, Darling Harbour, a walk along Pyrmont Bridge , a shop at Market City outlet shops, Capital Theatre to see a show and a ride on the lightrail somewhere eg Star Casino or Fish Markets .
