Each year 16 December is cerebrated as victory day or vijay diwas in India. 11 December is a crucial date of this war when indian Paratroopers dropped from Parachute and Intercept Pakistan Army retreating to Dhaka. The photo of thousand paratroopers caused mayhem in the pakistani Army. On 16th India had declared ceasefire on the condition that General Niazi would accept the terms of Surrender. Major general J. F. R. Jacob reached Dhanka with draft document of Surrender. Niazi was initially reluctant to Agree but major general Jacob applied his wits and made Niazi to not only accept the condition of Surrender but also to give guard of Honour to Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Aurora.
