Arizona will be getting more moisture and some snow with this weekend’s system, but it won’t be enough to bring the state back to average snowfall. Flagstaff will only get about 3 inches of snow, and meteorologists at the National Weather Service said the city still has less than half of the average snowfall. Flagstaff is known as one of the top 10 snowiest cities in the U.S. However, Brian Klimowski, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, said this year it’s not living up to its legacy, as the total snowfall is well below average. “Only 14.2 inches, which is well below our average of about 42 to 43 inches by this time of year,” Klimowski said. Last year was one of the driest starts to winter and one of the warmest on record in Flagstaff. Unfortunately, it looks like this year could be similar.
