Your Medication Risperidone Risperidone is also known as the brand name: Risperdal Risperidone comes in 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4 mg tablets. Risperidone also comes in 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4 mg dispersible tablets. Risperidone is most commonly used for: bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or for irritability associated with autism. Risperidone may also be used for depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, Tourette’s syndrome, or for psychosis and agitation related to Alzheimer’s disease. Risperidone is usually taken by mouth once daily. Standard dosing of risperidone ranges from: 0.5 mg up to 8 mg per day depending on treatment.
