Mixed Species Fishing at Seaford Beach! Plaice, Dogfish & More! 🎣🐟 Headed to Seaford Beach for a 5-hour session, targeting plaice and other flatties while also scratching around for anything lurking in close. With a mix of prime king rag and frozen black lug, I tested out a variety of rigs: 🎣 Three-hook loop rig (1/0 Saltwater Champion hooks, 5oz SKM grip lead)🎣 Single-hook clipped down URFE rig (size 2 Aberdeen for the plaice, 5oz plain Aero lead from Shorecast) 🎣 Two-up, one-down Wessex-style running rig (size 4 Super Match hooks for scratching, 4oz pyramid lead) The sea was crystal clear and dead flat, with a northeasterly wind and a mix of cloud and sunshine. It looked perfect for those plaice I wanted to catch. The results? Loads and loads of bites! Landed one plaice, two dogfish, and two crabs—a true mixed-bag session, reflecting the mixed tactics!
