Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum Free Online Program Live on Stage: Entertainment in Early Bisbee with Mike Anderson Recorded - Saturday, June 8, 2024, 11:00 am – MST Sponsored by the Arizona Historical Society Although the copper mining camp of Bisbee, Arizona was located in a remote part of the American southwest, professional entertainers of all kinds traveled there during the late 1800s and early 1900s to perform on stage for appreciative audiences. Historian Mike Anderson will tell the fascinating story of the men and women who sang, danced, acted, juggled, and told jokes at the mining camp’s live entertainment venues during Bisbee’s glory days. Mike Anderson is the author of “Warren Ballpark,” a work that delves into the rich history of the playing field. He is also the historian and founding member of the Friends of Warren Ballpark in Bisbee. Anderson has also published numerous articles in the Journal of Arizona History and the Cochise County Historical Journal. In addition, he is a performer himself and is a character and writer on the Farm and Ranch Report, a comedy radio show on Bisbee’s local radio station KBRP.
