The combination of rising interest rates and higher real estate prices have made it difficult for many to either enter the real estate market or move up. As a result, real estate prices, while still high, are not increasing at the rate that existed over the previous 20 years. Going forward, owners will have a harder time benefitting from price appreciation to offset the usually higher cost of owning compared to renting. This webinar with branch member and long time Ottawa Branch presenter Michael Fine will explore how and why the real estate market has changed and what can be expected in the next ten years or so. It will also examine the real costs of owning an apartment and compare that to renting.
