This week 707 Operations ran The slow rail journeys Grainlander to Ultima and Quambatook. This was the first time in many years former V/Line Passenger Diesel Locomotive A62 lead a mainline passenger train. It was also the first time after much renovation and testing, that A62 lead a heritage train under 707 Operations Inc ownership. A66 and N452 also assisted A62. A62 was withdrawn from V/Line in 2015, a few years later, 707 Operations was effectively gifted the locomotive and in 2025, the locomotive made a triumphant return up front complete with headboard to recognise the occasion. In this video, we follow the train trackside as it runs through Central Victoria as it makes its way back to Melbourne. Have a great week - Brenden S.
