I never use an inline lead straight out of the packet. The problem with standard inline leads is that the carp can use the weight of the lead to throw the rig. On certain waters, it’s not an issue and you can catch plenty of carp. But when you go to a new water, with more pressured fish, or fewer carp, a standard inline lead setup can let you down. There are several ways to transform a standard inline lead.
