Is your low back pain really just about your spine? In this episode of The Dr. JJ Thomas Podcast, we reveal why an effective strategy for treating low back pain has to include evaluating and addressing your entire body — from head to toe. I break down the research on faulty muscle activation patterns and explain how issues in your neck, shoulders, or hips can contribute to ongoing pain. You'll learn how spinal muscles span from your tailbone to your head, how your shoulder muscles impact core stability, and why tight hips can weaken your abdominals. I also dive into the research that highlights why restoring proper muscle activation patterns is critical for long-term relief. We’ll cover how weak glutes force the lower back to compensate, how tight lats pull on the pelvis and stress the lumbar spine, and how tight adductors inhibit core stability. Understanding these connections is key to solving your pain and preventing future injury. Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll cover the best exercises to strengthen these muscles and reduce pain so you can move better and feel stronger! 🔗 PMID: 19501348 🔗 PMID: 19501348 🔗 PMID: 8961451 ======================== Get A Free Copy Of My Book: 5 Things Your MUST do to Build a Successful Cash Based PT Practice: This quick, easy-to-read guide is your no BS steps to what really works in building a Cash Based Physical Therapy business. 👉 https://bit.ly/SuccessfulCashBasedBus...
