I'm getting started on my New Year's resolution a bit early! My goal is to record all four Mozart Concerti and the Concert Rondo before the end of winter break. These won't be live recordings (I could do that in a day, which would be tiring and data intensive), but rather they'll be segmented runs, which will help me practice my editing skills. A segmented run is a type of recording that is a blend of live performance and studio process. Essentially, I'll record the piece one chunk at a time, and then patch the chunks together. I'm not allowed to edit anything within the chunks for this challenge, so I still have to have it down pat... but I will have the luxury of emptying water, and having a second go a tricky passages (i.e. trills). For this segmented run, I divided the first movement into four sections into four sections, and the second into three. Mvt. 1 Exposition Development Recapitulation Coda (far and away the trickiest to record on the Kruspe) Mvt. 2 Beginning to the Minor section of the Rondo The minor section of the Rondo and its return to Major The rest of the Rondo. In an effort to save data/upload speeds, the 'video' is mostly audio.
