On April 17, 2025, I decided to film some crossings that afternoon. I first went over to this crossing with @T@Trainocatn hopes of catching a train. After arriving, we waited for about half an hour before the crossing activated, and this eastbound CPKC manifest came rolling through with an older CP AC4400CW leading, a KCS ES44AC trailing, and a KCSM ES44AC working as a rear DPU. This crossing is a pretty decent one. Originally, the crossing featured these older Safetran signals installed by the CP Rail System in the mid-1990s. The signals originally featured WCH 8" incandescent lights and a WCH mechanical bell. Not much changed until between 2009 and 2012, when the original WCH mechanical bell was replaced with the GS Type 2 E-Bell. Between 2012 and 2014, all the 8" lights were replaced with the current WCH 12x20" Harmon Fading LED lights. At the same time, pedestrian gates were added to the near side. However, the pedestrian gates they installed at that time were reused mid-1990s Safetran gates, interestingly enough. The following year, those pedestrian signals were replaced with the current modern Invensys Rail ones. Sometime in the past few years, the original WCH E-Bell on the near pedestran signal was replaced with a new one. Finally, the gateless mast was replaced with a new one after I recorded this video, around late 2025 or early 2026 I believe. The new gateless mast features WCH 12x20" GE Uniform Look LED lights and a WCH E-Bell. Pretty soon, the crossing is slated to be closed and removed, being replaced by an overpass nearby. This is to prepare for the construction of the new Green Line LRT in the Ogden area. Overall, I'm glad to have filmed this crossing when I did. Please comment, like and subscribe!
