The progress is so satisfying to watch. IT was anyone's guess what the plastic water tank inside of the blue Plastimo cover looks like. I couldn't imagine that it would be this gross. No wonder the water on board smells so foul! FOLLOW: Instagram.com/sailboat.shellessea This is part 1 one of this project, in part 2 I'll change out the hoses to complete the project. It was relatively easy to do and quite enjoyable to be honest. Plus, it was fun to spend time with my dad working on boat things. HOW TO CLEAN YOUR PLASTIMO WATER BLADDER TANK? 1. Empty the water from in the tank. 2. Remove the tank in its cover from its position in the boat. 2. Remove the Bladder from the cover. To do this, roll the bladder as tightly as possible in the bag and pull it through the gap in the casing. 3. Fill with a couple litres of water in an appropriate work space then shake it to agitate whatever is in the bladder. You can use plastic under the fittings as I did to make the bladder watertight. Let the water out. 4. Fill with 2 litres of chlorine bleach and about 1 gallon of water. Once again shake to agitate. 5. Take a cloth or scrubby and clean the exterior of the Bladder. 6. Wash off the soap on the exterior and rinse out the Bladder with fresh water. 7. Fill with about 2 litres of chlorine bleach, rub the top and bottom of the bladder together. Leave in a cool area over night. 8. Machine wash the bladder cover. 9. Rinse and repeat steps 3 and 4 until the bladder looks sufficiently clean. 10. Rinse once more 11. Roll the bladder and place it through the gap in the cover, twist and turn as necessary to get it to the correct position. TA-DA you now have a clean Plastimo water tank! I hope that this was helpful, entertaining or both for you! Thank you for watching and please don't forget to like and subscribe! Rushell Sailboat Shellessea
