Trains Passing Perfectly! Norfolk Southern Coal Trains In Williamson West Virginia Abandoned Caboose

2 Norfolk Southern trains passing perfectly! Then a coal train with a dorm car pulled by a locomotive running long hood forward. These trains are in Williamson, West Virginia area on the Norfolk Southern main line. We look in an abandoned railroad caboose and see a nearly abandoned railroad yard. The old caboose is coupled to a passenger car on a siding and is part of the Williamson Railroad Museum. It sits downtown just north of the huge railroad yard. It looks like the museum is abandoned and appears that people have been living or camping in the caboose. I wish I could have seen more coal trains here. I spent the night in Matewan and only saw a few. There are abandoned and removed railroad lines all over this area. The trains that we see passing are just a few miles north of Williamson next to a church in Glen Hayes. I heard the coal train approaching so I found an interesting area to film it and right when the locomotives went out of sight the second train just pops right up! That was pure luck. I am told that the westbound was the 217 which had a crew change in Portsmouth, Ohio and then went on to Belleview, Ohio. The short coal train pulled by an SD40-2 running long hood forward was also luck. I was leaving Williamson when I heard it approaching on the scanner 161.250, so I pulled over and filmed it at a crossing. The camper on the flat car is some type of maintenance of way place for the workers to stay in aka dorm car. That was pretty cool! There is all kinds of cool stuff in this video son.
