APF Monthly Prayers May 2025 Conscientious Objectors Past and Present

International Conscientious Objectors Day was commemorated on May 15th. For our May monthly prayers, we considered through prayer, readings, music and reflection the sacrifices made by Conscientious Objectors in the present day - in Ukraine and Israel, but also in many other countries where the right to Conscientious Objection is not recognised. We also remembered CO's of the past, including early members of APF who ran The Hungerford Club, an air raid shelter and refuge for homeless people during the Blitz. Music was provided by Sue Gilmurray. APF relies on members and friends to carry out our work including these monthly gatherings.
