This is not a textbook. This is lived experience. This is Autism, Neurodivergence, and mental health—through the eyes of a late-diagnosed Autistic African/American woman who grew up knowing she was different long before she had language for it. I’m a proud knowledge (and data) hoe, yes—but I also believe that 100% is still just a statistic. God, culture, intuition, trauma, brilliance, and survival all belong in the conversation. Here, we leave room for the unseen, the misunderstood, and the stories that never make it into research papers. I wrote my first suicide note at 12 and got kicked out of a Catholic boarding school in Cameroon for it. No one asked why. No one had the words Autism, neurodivergence, or masking—especially not for girls, not for African girls. Instead, I was labeled “extra,” “too intense,” “too passionate,” “too strict,” or simply… special. If you’re African—or part of the diaspora—and you know someone people describe as “they see things,” “that’s just how they are,” or “a bit different”… this channel is for you. If you are that person? Welcome home. This channel is an ongoing experiment—no rigid format, no sterile lectures. Just real conversations about Autism, ADHD, trauma, faith, culture, burnout, masking, and the mental health conditions that hide neurodivergence in plain sight—especially in women and girls of color. Disclaimer: I am not a psychologist or clinician. I am a survivor. A thinker. A deeply curious, late-diagnosed Autistic woman whose lived experience is not inferior to credentials—it is complementary. I’ll reference research, but I won’t hide behind it. Expect truth with teeth. Snark. Sass. Spirituality. Compassion without coddling. And a whole lot of “wait… THAT’S what that was?!” Pull up a chair. You’re among your people now!
