Over the years, the Carters have traveled the globe, racking up an extraordinary 45 IGFA World Records—39 of which still stand—while mastering the art of light tackle fishing. Their accomplishments include multiple IGFA Billfish Royal Slams, Grand Slams, and the prestigious Bob Herder Light Tackle Award. Beyond records, Gary has served the IGFA for over two decades, helping advance the sport they both love. Today, the Carters continue their pursuit of big game fish on light tackle, and their induction into the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame celebrates not only their achievements but also their enduring dedication to the sport.
