Fred Hampton was just twenty-one years old when the FBI killed him. Most people know that part—but almost nobody understands why he became one of the most feared men in the United States. This documentary uncovers the story the government never wanted the public to see: the moment a Black Panther leader stood beside poor white Appalachians wearing Confederate flag patches—and called them brothers. Hampton didn’t just challenge racism. He challenged the entire political order by building the Rainbow Coalition, a united front of Black Panthers, Puerto Rican Young Lords, and white working-class Young Patriots. It was the kind of multiracial, working-class movement that could overturn entire systems—and that’s exactly why the FBI targeted him. COINTELPRO infiltration, forged letters, informants, and a predawn raid ended his life. But the ideas he built never died. In this film, we follow Hampton’s rise, the alliances he forged, the forces aligned against him, and the assassination that tried—and failed—to silence a revolution.
