#memepokhari #lamjung Our happy dashain wishes to you all. As everyone, the pandemic and the lockdown that followed halted our travels for a while. Once it loosened a little, we got an invitation to visit Meme Pokhari of Lamjung by our dear friend Suraj Gurung. It was on our list for a while, so we couldn’t say no. After a few arrangements, we set out for a week-long trek to Lamjung. It was a different experience, due to the circumstances. But once we started our hike from Taksar, we almost forgot about it all. We were more worried about our shelter, the rain and leeches. Overall, what a beautiful trail, and what a beautiful destination. Not just Meme Pokhari but the myths and tales behind each and every pasture, uphills and rivers, the nomadic life of the shepherds, the wildflowers and the companionship of the locals, everything about this trip was fascinating. Having said that, the trails are pretty tough, it's easy to get lost unless you’re with someone who knows the area well and the accommodation/fooding part is tough. The youths from Taksar and Tanje have initiated plans to promote this area. Hopefully, things will change for the better very soon. It is a circuit trek, and can be done within a week.
