Decolonial Feminism as Theory and Practice | Françoise Vergès

In this episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Professor Françoise Vergès, activist, public educator, and author of A Decolonial Feminism, recently translated into Polish and published with ⁠Wydawnictwo Współbycie⁠. She visited us on the occasion of the Humanities–Society–Identity Congress, where she was one of the two keynote speakers.  In her work, Françoise Vergès radically reframes feminism — not as a universal project, but as something deeply entangled with colonial history, racial capitalism, state power, and everyday forms of exploitation. She also emphasizes that decolonial feminism is not just a theory but a practice, so we ask about emotions, memory, optimism, and responsibility — especially in European contexts that often prefer to forget their colonial legacies.
