Venus was found abandoned in the desert, absolutely frightened of human contact. We use every humane resource possible and try to be as gentle with every animal we rescue. Unfortunately we were bound to an area where we couldn’t confine Venus and asked Dr. Scott Amsel to help us tranquilize her. After she came around, I took the time to gain her trust. For homeless and abused dogs this is a very difficult process and takes time. At Hope for Paws, we give them all the time they need. Once she was ready, we took her back to LA, where she was pampered like a goddess. With over 30,000 stray, abused, abandoned and homeless dogs in Los Angeles alone, we always encourage adoption as a first choice for a pet.
