Jana Semaan's interpretation on Toccata Seconda (Toccata Number 2) composed by Baroque Composer Francesco Paolo Scipriani aka Supriano (1678-1753). The video was filmed and recorded at St. Peter and Paul Church - Amchit, Lebanon. Jana's words on the Toccata N2. : "In this Toccata, Scipriani focuses on one of the difficult techniques that cellists practice constantly: Octave jumps. In this piece, I alternate between octaves played in short staccato bowings and melodic lines played legato." Jana's Bio: Jana is a Lebanese born cellist and music educator. She graduated from the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart-Germany where she completed her studies in cello performance and achieved her Master's degree in Early Music/Baroque Cello. Today, Jana pursues her career as a performer and teaches music at several universities in Lebanon. She is head of the first Center for Early Music in the Middle East at the Antonine University.
