Arriving Bakersfield Municipal (L45)

I recently flew the A36 Bonanza from Seattle to Tucson and back to give a presentation to owners of Piper Malibu and Meridian aircraft at their annual convention. On the way south, I stopped at Lincoln, CA (KLHM) for fuel and then continued VFR to a planned overnight stop at Bakersfield, CA. I didn’t want to continue across the desert to Tucson in the heat of the afternoon, and thunderstorms were in the forecast. This video begins over the Central Valley in California near Fresno and shows my arrival at Bakersfield Municipal Airport (L45), a GA small airport on the south side of that city. The flight early the next morning to Ryan Field near Tucson was smooth and comfortable, as you can see in the next video in this series.
