Fly with us into Meadows Field Airport on Runway 30R. You won’t find any transient parking here but you have a great selection of FBOs to choose from. This airport does get limited commercial airliner service so watch out for wake turbulence! This airport is also home to California Aeronautical University (CAU). TRANSIENT PARKING There is no transient parking available here. You will need to coordinate your visit through one of the FBOs. GA aircraft are parked on the ramp and can be hangered for an additional fee (space permitting) contact your FBO of choice to get more info. FBO You have three options for FBOs here: Atlantic Aviation, Bakersfield Jet Center and Epic Jet Center. We enjoyed our stay with Bakersfield Jet Center. Atlantic Aviation and Epic Jet Center are also highly rated. The Bakersfield Jet Center provides a variety of comfortable seating, computers for flight planning and a quiet room for pilots. Water and coffee dispensers can be found in the lobby. Limited crew cars area available on a first come first serve basis and are not guaranteed. The staff here is kind and welcoming to GA pilots and guests. Breakdown of fees for our Piper Arrow III for November 2024 Parking Fee: 00.00 (FREE for our short day trip) Avgas: 77.97 (11.4 gallons @ $6.84 gallon) TOTAL: 77.97 Overnight Ramp Fees for single engine are typically $30/night. FUEL Fuel is full-service only at this airport. Fuel is provided by the FBOs. As expected full-service fuel prices are a bit higher. You can check AirNav for current pricing. CREW CAR / CAR RENTAL Crew cars are available through Bakersfield Jet Center. Grab food nearby and visit the Kern County Museum and explore the old wild west buildings. You can arrange for a car rental through the FBO. This is highly recommended if you’re planning on staying for the day and/or overnight. FOOD CAU has a cafeteria on campus that is open to the public. We recommend you grab the crew car and make your way into town. You’ll find lots more varied food options nearby.
