Hey guys , STICK with this video - Yeah , I know it ME doing some boring talk to camera at the beginning BUT it gets SO MUCH better. You see flight attendants on an empty BRAND NEW Aircraft, checking it out for themselves before they do safety checks/safety scenarios for FAA Inspectors ( not shown). You will get to see the interior of the plane. You will then get some nice shots of the flight path in to London UK over Wales, Cardiff , Bristol (The Severn Bridges). You even get to see Barry Island ( "Cracking" as Nessa would say ! ) At THE END - You are going to see flight attendants SITTING IN THE ENGINES of this plane - you dont get to see that often ! Its also nice to receive your comments. Regards, Steve xxx ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is a historical account of the Boeing 777-222 BEFORE it went in to public service. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On 30th May 1995 , Steve Scott (narrator) and a select team of London (LHR) United Airlines based flight attendants and USA Pilots , brought this Boeing 777-222 from Washington Dulles (IAD) to London Heathrow (LHR).The aircraft was a brand new model and The United States FFA needed to see flight attendants in action "testing" the aircraft cabin and performing safety procedures. This procedure was one of many procedures needed for the aircraft to achieve accreditation. The aircraft went in to commercial service on June 7th 1995 , 8 days after this video was shot. United Airlines was the launch customer. This is not an official video, it was simply shot by Steve Scott to be a memory of one day in his career. Operational History: United Airlines (1995–2006): The aircraft was delivered new to United Airlines with the registration N766UA and fleet number 2066. It operated with United until early 2006. Air India (2006–2011): The aircraft was transferred to Air India on January 4, 2006, and re-registered as VT-AIR. Retirement: The aircraft was taken out of service and ultimately broken up (scrapped) in April 2011 at Tarbes–Lourdes Pyrénées Airport (LDE) in France, after approximately 15.9 years of service.
