In Genesis 4, life outside the garden begins. It starts off hopeful, with Eve giving birth to Cain and Abel. But any hopes of either son being the promised Gen 3:15 offspring of the woman—the seed who would crush the serpent’s head and restore God’s fallen creation—are short lived. Cain gives into sin, murders his brother Abel, and is sentenced by God to wander the earth as a fugitive in exile. Friends, as we continue tracing Adam’s family line this Sunday, we’ll confront the devastating power of sin and our desperate need for Christ—and for one another—so we don’t follow the path of Cain: cut off from home, family, and ultimately, from God Himself. Would you join us in praying that God would speak powerfully through His Word this Sunday, causing us to repent of any crouching sins in our lives so we can walk in righteousness? Soli Deo Gloria! Big Idea: The power of sin is great, but the power of the Savior is greater. 1. Sin's worship (1-5) 2. Sin's power (5b-8) 3.
