Episode12 Grand Canyon

In this episode we visit one the 7 natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon. Pictures and videos simply do not do it justice. I beg you, if you’ve never experienced first hand, please make it a priority. You will not regret it. We had some good weather. It was a bit breezy and a little chilly at night with lows in the 20’s but would warm to near 60 during the day. One of the more priceless things to experience while at Grand Canyon is the sunset and sunrise. While there is no bad spot some of the more amazing spots are Hopi Point for sunsets and Mather Point for sunrises. We experienced both at Mather in this visit. In our last visit, we paid a little extra to do a shuttle tour to Hopi Point. To get to Hopi you must either walk it or take a shuttle. In the winter months it is open to unauthorized vehicles I believe. We truck camped at Mather Campground and utilized the public showers that are part of Mather Campground. One thing we want to be known for is our faith. More specifically our Catholic faith. It was such a cool experience to visit El Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Grand Canyon Village. It’s a small chapel and there were about 60 or so people crammed in this small chapel. What a cool experience. Most of the parishioners actually live inside the park. We absolutely loved this experience and it was super cool for Jennings to be able to see the Grand Canyon and all of its beauty for the first time. We’ll be back!!!
