In December 2021 Arkay CEO Mitchell Kaneff embarked on a project to memorialize Arkay’s history through the sharing of narratives. Functioning as an homage to his 91-year old father, Chairman Emeritus Howard Kaneff – who had so profoundly contributed to the success and endurance of this 3-generation family business – the filming evolved into three separate episodes. On the threshold of Arkay’s 100th anniversary, Mitchell and his father sat around a table accompanied by COO Walter Shiels, Corporate VP of Operations Brian Hopkins, Senior Planner Joan Kepko, and Director of Sales Gregg Goldman to laugh, reminisce, drink wine, and simply enjoy swapping stories about their time at Arkay. When Howard Kaneff passed away suddenly in August 2022, we were filled with gratitude that these wonderful videos remain, a tribute forever to such an exceptional leader and to the company he helped form, now in its second century in business. Of the three episodes History Factory filmed, this is the first one.
