Can I SURVIVE My First Cat C Zwift Race?

The plan for this Zwift race was simple. Survive Category C. Tour De Zwift Stage 6 on Richmond Rollercoaster was the first race in our new series at Dead Last Cycling ‘Trying to Survive and Thrive in Category C’. It was not a gentle introduction as the route throws you right in at the deep end on two brutally steep climbs and follows it up with a third longer uphill drag, all in the first half. But since today was just about survival I was not worried about saving any matches for the sprint and was ready to bury myself to make it to the flat circuit with the front group. I noticed the increased pace over Cat D almost right away and when it was all said and done I’d had to work so hard that I nearly lost my voice.
