#mazdarx7 #13b #rotaryengine Today I carry out a compression test on my 1992 Mazda RX7 FD3S Efini to see if the engine is still all good for future plans. This is something I've never done before so I thought it would be good to show you how I managed to do and hopefully give you other rx7 owners out there a bit of confidence to try yourself if you need to carry out one of these tests. the procedure you need to do for this test is as follows: 1. warm the rx7 up to temperature and then shut the car off (I disconnected the battery too) 2. personally I would jack the car up and and remove the wheels off the car for better access reasons 3. remove the big yellow EGI fuse which is located in the engine bay to the right in the bigger fuse box. I also removed a fuse in the small relay box too third you down from the top but unsure if that was necessary or not. 3. you need to remove the top two spark plugs from the engine housings ONLY (the top front is the tricky one to get removed so be aware) 4. screw in the component which is supplied in the rotary tester kit and plug in the device afterwards (make sure you have screwed in the component tight enough or it can effect your results) leave the the other top spark plug hole open that is normal (it will spit some fuel out which is fine) 5. power back on the car if you disconnected your battery and turn on the rotary compression tester (red button on the side) 6. the tester should load up and say begin cracking the engine 7. crank your engine and keep your foot flat to the floor on the accelerator so it pushes air to the engine 8. you then should have some results showing on the LCD screen 9.
