Keighley & Worth Valley Railway - ‘Spring Steam Gala’ 2025

The 4th Weekend in March saw the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway hold their annual Steam Gala featuring 3 Visiting locomotives including Stannier 8F 48305 from the Great Central Railway, LMS 3F 0-6-0 16440 from the Midland Railway Butterly and Ian Riley’s Black 5 44871. The KWVR home fleet was also running and that included LMS Ivatt 2MT 41241, L&Y Class 25 52044, LMS Jubilee 45596 Bahamas, Taff Tank 85, Coal Tank 1054, Standard 4 75078, Standard 2 78022 and new locos to the KWVR Dora and Ann. This is my first Visit to the KWVR and I came to the Saturday and Sunday of the Gala and considering it was my first visit I wasn’t Disappointed and 100% will be visiting again. The visited a number of locations while I was at the gala. The locations included Bridghouse Beck, Top Field, Keighley Bank, Woodhouse Road, Damems Loop, Ives bottom Wood and Myholmes Tunnel. I had a great time at the railway despite the weather and delays but it didn’t put me off and I can’t wait for my next visit to the KWVR.
