Glenn and Maureen go on a wilderness hike to place the microphone after hearing wolf howls not far from their off grid cabin in the Canadian Wilderness. Their adventure takes them through the forest that's still in the throws of late winter/early spring, as the snow melts into puddles through the day, and freezes at night. After strategically placing the microphone and recorder, they venture back toward the cabin through the forest, stopping for coffee and Glenn's account of his face to face encounter with a lone wolf. Glenn and Maureen share other memories and experiences they've had during their 30 years of nature field recording of wildlife and wilderness soundscapes. He shares some of his recordings of Loons, Barred Owls, and a Wolf Howl. Glenn explains a few tips for what one can do if they encounter a wolf or other predator in the wild. Never run if you feel threatened by a wolf or other predator, instead implement some of the tips Glenn mentions. They hiked back to the cabin in the snow covered wilderness under a starry moonlit sky. Glenn makes a campfire with natural materials he foraged from the forest, and lights it bush craft style with a ferro rod.
