Video uploaded and owned by RaptoReX ____________________________________________________________________ Once again I'm speedrunning my favorite game of all time - the legendary PlayStation puzzle-game "Kula World" (called "Roll Away" in America and "Kula Quest" in Japan). For speedrunning purposes, I'm playing "Roll Away" because it runs at a higher frame rate and has the best routes for level completion. This time i got a really bad Speedrun for you, or let's call it very casual. Yes you heard me correctly, casual. Don't let the IGT fool you - this may be my fastest speedrun yet, but only because of glitches, this is the first glitched one I uploaded as well. I played so bad that I still managed to be slower than Adeyblue's fastest speedrun - even though i used a few glitches that he didn't But first, let me explain a few things. The "IGT" in the title means "In-game timer". It refeers to the time that is shown after the final cutscene after stage 150. By using that timer, we have an equal playground for everybody. Maybe you also noticed that I, despite this being a speedrun, collected a lot of fruit, but not all of them. Why? Normally, if you play the "time attack" mode, you just have to collect keys. If you collect a fruit, the "IGT" goes down by 4 seconds. For some weird reason, this also applies to the arcade mode. That was Adeyblue's discovery. So you have to figure out, which of the fruit you can collect without loosing time. In this speedrun I used the XBOX One X Controller again. Yeah it's D-Pad is trash and I made a lot of mistakes because of it. Anyways, let me explain which Glitches I used. This was basically a demonstration of a speedrun, just to see what time is possible with these and a very casual speedrun. You still need to be fast, but not very skilled in order to achieve this. Let's start: 1. Hiro Skip The Hiro Skip is really easy. Play all 15 levels and collect 5 random fruits on the way, doesn't matter which as long as it is 5. You need to access a bonus level at the end of level 15. Since restarting or quitting this bonus level technically counts as a level skip, the game will load the next level when returning to the main menu, which is Hills first level and since the new game option starts whatever level is in the background, you skipped the entirety of Hiro, meaning the IGT does not count the whole world. Just don't die and let your score reach zero, everything will go back to normal. 2. Copycat Glitch This one has the same premise as the "Hiro Skip". Technically, dying here makes Player 1 switch to Player 2. This fail state counts as a level skip in arcade and will be executed the next time you load a level. So after every five levels, save your game, go to copycat, turn right and jump and immiadiately quit. Reload your savefile and see how the game skips the first level each time. Makes the speedrun more of a loading screen simulator - as seen in my video - but makes it so much easier and you can recover from mistakes by redoing the glitch, you don't loose time. There are many more glitches that my friend SaturnKai found. The reason I didn't use them is that i either didn't practice them or couldn't do them reliable enough. Trust me, it is insane how much he found and how much it can cut down your IGT. Even these two glitches almost made me reach Adeyblue's time with almost casual play. Check out his channel for much more like a freakin' level editor, randomizer and much more: / @saturnkai Also look at this insane TAS to see what is possible. I think he even found a couple of glitches after this: • (TAS) The Final - 7:05.55 | Roll Away Thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoyed it.
