The complete list of hyperthyroidism symptoms. What type of symptoms you may experience being hyperthyroid or having a high thyroid. Every patient with thyroid problems should be well aware of the symptoms of high thyroid as well as low thyroid. Why? Because most people just automatically assume that whatever their thyroid function is right now, it will stay that way for the rest of their life. That couldn't be farther from the truth! Regardless of whatever thyroid condition you have, you better believe that you will spend some time in being hyperthyroid, hypothyroid, and normal. In fact, it's very likely that you will bounce between these states many times throughout your life. Because of this, you better be aware of the symptoms associated with BOTH low thyroid and high thyroid. It's actually pretty simple because most symptoms are opposite of one another but let's break them down. Symptoms of hyperthyroidism include: #1. Weight loss. #2. Hair loss (fine brittle hair) #3. Rapid menstrual cycle. #4. Anxiety/panic attacks. #5. Rapid heart rate. #6. Heart palpitations. #7. Tremors. #8. Sweating/hot flashes. #9. Heat intolerance. #10. Fatigue (low energy). #11. Insomnia. When you think about the symptoms associated with hyperthyroidism you can think about every system in your body getting amped up. Thyroid hormone impacts almost every cell in your body so symptoms of excess thyroid hormone impact you in many different ways. As more thyroid hormone influences your body, you will see everything increase in speed. Your metabolism will increase, your heart rate will increase, your body temperature will go up, and so on. Prolonged states of hyperthyroidism can cause serious issues to the body because you only want to spend energy on things that are NECESSARY at the right time.
