Nearly every aspect of this build was a significant challenge. We had to completely revamp the base design and destruction mechanism to be able to support a 5-digit number of planks above it, as well as counteract the outwards push of the bridge on the whole structure. The bridge itself needed to be perfectly aligned to fit between the mountains, and the arch needed to be strong enough to support the weight of the vertical beams and road. It was a bit too unrealistic for it to work the first time around. The developments and experience since then proved necessary for us to finish it. We finally decided to rebuild right before Bridge Day, an annual celebration at the actual New River Gorge Bridge in Fayette County, West Virginia.
