The Purchasing Chessboard is the book that defines me most. In this video, I talk about what the Purchasing Chessboard means to me personally and how it has changed my life. The original impetus for the Purchasing Chessboard came in a meeting in late 2005. It then took surprisingly long two years for the proto-Chessboard to evolve into the Purchasing Chessboard that you know. Personally, the Purchasing Chessboard has taken me into entirely new industries and I have learned to trust its logic to guide me in uncharted waters. I am grateful for all the doors the Purchasing Chessboard has opened for me. It is now time to give back to the wider community of procurement people. One of the ideas I am contemplating is to do a comprehensive series of videos in which I explain the Purchasing Chessboard in depth.
