This last year has been one of many changes for me—quite possibly one of the most stressful to date, but also one of immense growth. In so many ways, it’s been one of my favorites. In the big scheme of things, I believe it will always rank high in the category of significance. A year ago today, I decided to record a late Christmas present for my sister—a Taylor Swift song she’d been wanting me to cover. If you’ve seen it, you’ll know I hadn’t quite figured things out yet. In my defense, it was my first attempt at making a video of myself. It felt (and probably always will feel) foreign and uncomfortable. It had been years since I posted anything at all, and I held my breath as I pushed the “upload” button. The only comfort I had was knowing it wouldn’t be seen by many. After all, I had (and was very proud of) a total of 129 subscribers. Little did I know… As of today, there are 4,107 of you here, and my views have increased by 23,157% in just one year (what?!). But really, it isn’t the numbers that have made this experience so meaningful—and dare I say, life-changing. To the handful of you who were part of that original 129 and kept showing up for me, even after years of “dead air,” thank you ♥️. Your support means more than I can say. And to everyone who found me this past year, took a chance on my music, and continues to watch, listen, and comment on every video—you’ve made this year lighter, brighter, and completely unforgettable. The Parting Glass is a song of gratitude, farewells, and new beginnings—it feels like the perfect way to close out this chapter and turn to the next blank page. I’m genuinely excited to see what’s to come. I mean it with my whole heart when I say, thank you for being here, for listening, and for your connection. It makes all the difference ♥️.
