A wildlife photographer and storyteller, once overlooked for his unconventional path, invites us into a world where nature teaches patience and purpose. In this moving talk, he challenges the idea of life as a race, instead offering a powerful metaphor: life is an onion—meant to be peeled, layer by layer- he explores how peeling back the layers of experience, struggle, and self-revelation ultimately yields a life rich with meaning, where the outcome is merely a byproduct of living fully. In this heartfelt TED Talk, a veteran wildlife photographer and storyteller shares his journey of perseverance, passion, and purpose. Prepare to see the wild — and life — through a profoundly different lens. Shivang is a renowned photographer with a passion for capturing life's precious moments. With his expertise in photography, he's here to share his insights and inspire us to see the world through a different lens. Shivang Mehta's love of nature eventually made him leave the cosy comforts of the corporate office for the field. He is now an avid traveller and nature photographer, his love for the forests of Kumaon impelling him to choose Corbett as his main area of work. Over the years, Shivang has conducted more than 200 field wildlife photography workshops and is currently an official trainer for Canon India, conducting such workshops in association with Canon across India, Sri Lanka, and Africa. His affinity for writing and storytelling had him freelance as a journalist in addition to contributing notes and columns on travel and conservation to numerous national and international publications. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
