Puhoi to Warkworth northern motorway extension. Auckland, New Zealand (4k)

Drive the brand new State Highway One motorway south from Warkworth to Puhoi. Opened in June 2023, many years in the making, significantly delayed by covid the new motorway is a pleasure to drive, smooth and indescribably quicker and safer than the old route. Impressive cuts through solid rock, longer easier grades than the old highway and 16minutes quicker as well as avoiding the terrible bottleneck at Warkworth. Filmed in 4k with a few markers along the way to orient yourself. This makes it now possible to drive from Warkworth south 207 km to Cambridge on Motorway standard roading, maybe not so impressive for bigger countries but for us with our small population and long thin topography not too shabby 😀.
